Creativity One on One

In a recent visit to Emory, renowned literary agent Susan Rabiner had this advice for academic writers who aspire to reach larger audiences:

Experiment with some creative writing.

Taking this suggestion to heart, the Author Development Program will now offer faculty members one-on-one coaching in creative writing, with special emphasis on creative nonfiction. By appointment and in a private setting, individual authors can explore their voice and creative potential. Whether honing new skills or building on existing ones, this creative practice can strengthen any form of writing. Techniques involving tone, narrative flow, and storyline can be valuable tools for reaching broader audiences.
